There is one thing in common between the people of dubai & mumbai.
People who lived in these cities will never like to leave it.
For a Mumbaite, who lived there for around a decade, the life that Mumbai offers is something that cannot be expected in other parts of India.
Similarly, in Dubai too, quite a lot Indians feel the same.
They lose jobs, but they dont want to lose Dubai. Because for these Indians, life is incomplete, if they dont live in Dubai.
Even during Vacation periods in home country, these Indians, miss Dubai very much.
Romba Overaaa?! but thats the fact!!

The Shame Gandhi

This is in reference with the post of Mr. Sandeep on 'What Does The Fall Of LTTE Mean To India". I am trying to share with you all my insights about the background of this ethnic strife.

Tamil is the oldest language in India (only Sanskrit can match its antiquity).
Tamil is the first language that got established in parts of Lanka much before the 'sinhala' language took its shape.

And Sinhalas are a collective group of people belonging to various tribes and castes, most of that migrated from Orissa/WestBengal region (erstwhile Kalinga kingdom).

And Buddhism flourished in Lanka, thanks to the influence of Emperor Asoka and his successors. Pandian and Cholan Kingdoms of Tamils gained contol over Srilanka for certain centuries which paved way for strong foundation for Hinduism against the Buddhist onslaught. Tamils preserved this Hindu identity until the Dutch/Portugese arrival.

When they were colonised by Dutch, and later by British, the elites among the Tamils stooped so low by becoming puppets of the western rulers. Large number of the influential section of Tamils converted to Christianity and served their British masters, and enjoyed more benefits. This earned the ire of both the Hindu Tamils and Buddhist Sinhalese. In the later days, this also became a major reason for the Sinhalese anger against the Tamils. For whatever wrong done by the British, the Sinhala politicians started training their gun against the minority Tamils.

During the freedom movement, there was a perfect unity between these two communities - Hindu Tamils and Buddist Sinhalese.

British engaged in their DIVIDE-AND-RULE policy, and much to the disadvantage of Tamils.
Things went very bad for the Tamils, as the Buddhist revival movement gathered momentum and found popular acceptability among the Sinhalese youth. The Buddist Sinhala mobs started targeting the minority Tamils, and the mainstream Sinhala politicians were mere spectators. At some places, the Sinhala politician istigated mobs against Tamils just to consolidate his base among Sinhala populace.

After Independence, the GOVT of SL had to budge to the Sinhala-Buddist parties, that created a GREAT DIVIDE between Tamils and Sinhala.
Unfortunately, Tamils were further divided into three categories by the SL Govt:-

SRILANKAN TAMIL (those who live since pre-historic times, much before the arrival of Buddhism)
INDIAN TAMIL (those who were brought by the British to work in Plantation areas and those Tamils who migrated from Tamil Nadu during the last two/three centuries)
MUSLIM (you will be surprised at this.. the tamil muslim calls himself a muslim and not a Tamil...).

The SINHALA-ONLY policy of the SL Govt brought the Tamils in the streets.. and Tamils from then onwards, started fighting for their equal rights. At one point of time, Tamils even agreed for 'separate state within the SL union'. but the repressive SL regimes continuously and steadfastly refused to give whatever is due for Tamils... all these at the instance of the Buddist fundamentalists monks. Violence was let loose on innocent Tamils, and all democratic parties of Tamils were suppressed in a draconian way by the SL Govt. In the seventies, Tamil youths were totally disenchanted with the political games of Sinhala-Tamil politicians, and they started supporting the armed groups. During this period LTTE began recruiting. Several Tamil groups like TELO, EPRLF, EROS, PLOTE... also started attracting the Tamil youths.

PLEASE KEEP ONE THING IN MIND... when Karunanidhi was supporting a moderate-TELO leadership (Tamil Ealam Liberation Organization), our INDIAN GOVERNMENT aided and encouraged LTTE against Srilanka...
If you need instances of our Indian Government's assistances to various millitant/armed groups (including LTTE, and not limited to LTTE), i am prepared to devot time and write again.......
And I would say, the SL Govt and Indian Govt had backed in the past several Tamil terrorists much against the wishes of DMK, AIADMK or even those SL Tamils politicians.

So there is nothing wrong in India intervening in SL affairs now in the given situation where tens and thousands of innocent Tamil civilians were butchered by the SL Army.

India has a geographical responsbility here.
we cannot ignore the Srilankan Tamils when the SL Govt is launching a genocide..... nor we can ignore the plight of those Malaysian Tamils who are at the received end over the past three/four years... so too, our Indian Govt has the geographical responsbility to speak up for all the persons of Indian Origin who are now living in Fiji, South Africa, Caribean, etc... and also to raise a strong voice in support of the minority Hindus living in Bangladesh or Pakisthan.If we fail to understand our responsibility, and if we stick to the failed 'non-inteventionist policy' of Nehru times, I am sorry, our country will be facing a real threat when it comes to people's unity and territorial integrity.

INDIA SHOULD INTERVENE.BUT DUE TO SONIA, India wont intervene.AND had it been Jayalalithaa, she would have long back withdrew the support to Central Govt; since it is the power-hungry Karunanidhi at the helm of affairs, all things went against Tamils in SL.
Had it been Vajpayee or Advani in power, SL Govt wouldnt have got the power to counter LTTE.Everyone in Tamil Nadu, Srilanka knows this truth.

Now because of the callous indifference shown by Sonia and Co, CHINA & PAKISTHAN are gaining foothold in Srilanka... what a shame, my brother...

Support Tibetians Please

Joint Press Statement on Tibet by Shri L K Advani, Shri Rajnath Singh and Shri Jaswant Singh:

The BJP has noted with serious concern the recent developments in Tibet. The use of indiscriminate violence by the Chinese armed forces to forcibly crush the voice of the people of Tibet is a serious development. The entire global community has begun to voice its apprehension about the manner in which force is being used against the protestors.

The anguish and suffering of Tibet and its people, eloquently expressed by His Holiness the Dalai Lama in pain imbued words, is a call to the conscience of all humanity.

In this context, it is indeed shameful to note that the Government of India, instead of expressing concern against the use of force by the Chinese government, is adopting a degrading policy of blatant appeasement towards China with scant regard to the country's national honor and foreign policy independence. Reports suggest that the Government of India has cancelled a proposed call by the Vice President of India on His Holiness when he is expected to visit Delhi in the near future. Why is the government adopting such a nationally humiliating and pusillanimous policy full of indecision at the cost of neglecting the country's prestige? The BJP condemns this and expects the UPA to candidly explain to the country the rationale behind this policy of irrationality.

The illuminating thought and person of Lord Buddha, born in India and finding enlightenment here, has lent a unique kinship to the relations between India and Tibet. For centuries these relations are entirely spiritual in content and practice. Tibet is one of the important and last surviving repositories of the great thought and teachings of Lord Buddha and has for at least the last 13 centuries been the custodian of an important school of Buddhist thought. India cannot and must not disconnect with this invaluable and indeed unique spiritual linkage.

India must give voice to its concerns; correctly, unequivocally and unambiguously. This is not any interference. It is standing up, by India, for preserving that which is our own, and that which is India's contribution to all humanity – Tibet's Buddhist culture and civilization. This is our bounden duty and our very "Dharma".

Let us not forget that the "Chakra"which adorns independent India's flag, on cloth or engraved on stone is a Buddhist symbol of the "Dharma Chakra". How can we adopt the symbol but ignore the reality?

ஏப்ரல் 1 மிபுனேயின் பிறந்த தினம். யார் மிபுனே என்று கேட்கிறீர்களா? பெயரைச்சொன்னால் பலருக்கும் தெரிந்திருக்காது ஆனால் அகிரா குரசேவாவின் படங்களில் சாமுராயாக நடித்தவர் என்றால் நிச்சயம் பலருக்கும் அடையாளம் தெரிந்துவிடும்.

ஹாலிவுட் நடிகர்களை அறிந்துள்ள அளவு பிறமொழிகளின் நடிகர்களைக் குறித்து நாம் அதிகம் அறிந்திருக்கவில்லை. உலகத் திரைப்படங்களைக் காணும் சந்தர்ப்பம் கிடைத்த போதும் கூட படத்தின் இயக்குனர் யார் என்பதில் கொள்ளும் கவனம் யார் நடித்திருக்கிறார்கள் என்பதில் இருப்பதில்லை. ஒரு சில முகங்கள் அடிக்கடி காணுகின்ற காரணத்தால் மனதில் பதிந்து விடுகின்றன. ஆனால் அவர்களின் பெயர்கள் நினைவில் நிற்பதில்லை.

நான் இதில் விதிவிலக்கு. பெரும்பாலும் திரைப்படங்களின் நடிகர்கள், தொழில் நுட்பக் கலைஞர்களை நினைவில் வைத்துக் கொள்வேன். மேலும் அவர்களைப் பற்றிய கூடுதல் விபரங்களையும், உருவாக்கத்தின் பின்னுள்ள விபரங்களையும் வாசித்து அறிந்து கொள்ள முயற்சிப்பேன்.

நடிகர்களில் ஹாலிவுட்டின் அல்பேசினோ, ராபர்ட் டிநீரோ, வுடீ ஆலன், கோடார்ட் படங்களில் நடித்த பெல்மான்டோ, சிரனோ டி பெர்ஜார் போன்ற படங்களில் நடித்த ஜெராடு டிபெர்டியூ, சேகுவாராவாக நடித்த கேல் கார்சியா பெர்னல், சினிமா பாரடிஷோ மற்றும் பாப்லோ நெருதாவாக நடித்த பிலிப்பே நோய்ரெட் , ஹெர்சாக் படங்களில் தொடர்ந்து நடித்த கின்ஸ்கி தற்போது ஜப்பானியப் படங்களில் பிரபலமாக உள்ள டகாசி கிடானோ, ஒல்டு பாய் போன்ற கொரியப் படங்களில் நடித்த ஷோய்மிக்சிக் போன்றவர்களை என் விருப்பத்திற்குரியவர்கள்.

இவர்களின்றி என் விருப்பத்தின் பட்டியலில் தனியிடம் கொண்டிருப்பவர் தொஷிரோ மிபுனே. (Toshiro Mifune) அகிரா குரசேவாவின் பதினாறு படங்களில் நடித்துள்ள இவரை மறந்து குரசேவாவை நினைவு கொள்வது இயலாது. நூற்றுக்கும் மேற்பட்ட படங்களில் நடித்திருந்த போதும் இவரை முழுமையாகப் பயன்படுத்திக் கொண்டவர் குரசேவா ஒருவர் மட்டுமே.

அவர் தான் மிபுனே என்ற நடிகரைக் கண்டு பிடித்து அறிமுகம் செய்தவர். பதினாறு படங்களிலும் பதினாறு வகையான குணபாவமுடைய கதாபாத்திரங்கள். ஜப்பானின் சிறந்த நடிகர் என்ற பெயரும் புகழும் உருவாவதற்கு முக்கியக் காரணமாக இருந்தவை குரசேவாவின் படங்கள்.

தொஷிரோ மிபுனேவிற்காகவே அவர் நடித்துள்ள ஆங்கில படங்களில் பத்துக்கும் மேற்பட்டதை பார்த்திருக்கிறேன். ஆனால் ஹாலிவுட்டில் அவரது ஆளுமை பெரிதாகக் கவனிக்கபடவில்லை. டப்பிங் செய்யப்பட்ட குரலும் பொருந்தாத உடைகளும் அவரைக் கோமாளி போல ஆக்கியிருந்தன.

எனக்கு விருப்பமான மிபுனேயின் ஐந்து படங்கள் ரோஷோமான், செவன் சாமுராய், ரெட் பியர்டு, ஹை அண்ட் லோ, த்ரோன் ஆப் பிளட்.

ரோஷோமானில் காட்டிற்குள் வழிப்பறி செய்யும் டோஜிமொரு என்ற கதாபாத்திரத்தில் மிபுனே நடித்திருப்பார். வனச்சிறுத்தையின் சீற்றமும், கம்பீரமும் கொண்டதொரு தோற்றம். இருளும் ஒளியும் கலந்த வனத்தினுள் பதுங்கிப் பதுங்கி செல்லும் சீற்றம். அழகான இளம்பெண்ணைக் கண்டவுடன் மனதில் தோன்றும் இச்சையுடன் வெறித்து பார்க்கும் மிருகநிலை.

தன் இரையைக் குறி வைத்துப் பாயும் மிருகத்தின் பாய்ச்சல் போல காமம் பற்றி எரிய அந்த பெண்ணை வீழ்த்தி ருசிப்பதும், அவள் தன் கணவனைச் சண்டையிட்டு கொல்லச் சொல்லிமன்றாடும் போது ஏற்படும் திகைப்பும், அவனோடு சண்டையிடும் போது காட்டும் வெறுப்பும் என மிபுனே வனத்திருடனாகவே மாறியிருப்பார்.

மிபுனேயின் சிறப்பு அம்சம் அவர் தன் உடலை தன்னுடைய கட்டிற்குள் வைத்திருக்கும் விந்தை. அவரது கைகள், நிற்கும்பாங்கு. கண்கள், முகத்தை திருப்பும் லாவகம் என அத்தனையும் வியப்பானது. அத்தோடு மின்சாரம் பாய்வது போல அவர் செயல்களில் தென்படும் வேகம் ஆச்சரியமூட்டக்கூடியது.

மார்லன் பிராண்டோவைப் போலவே மிபுனேயும் வசனங்களை உச்சரிக்கும் விதம் மாறுபட்டது . பெரும்பாலும் இவர் படங்களில் அதிகம் பேசுவதில்லை. மனத்தின் குழப்பங்களையும் சந்தோஷத்தையும் உடல் மொழியின் வழியாக வெளிப்படுத்தக் கூடியவர். தேர்ந்த நடிகரின் சிறப்பு அது தானே.

மரங்களுக்கு இடையில் குதிரையில் வந்து கொண்டிருக்கும் பெண்ணைக் கண்டதும் அவரது முகத்தில் தோன்றி மறையும் காம இச்சை, தண்ணீரில் பிரதிபலிக்கும் நிலவைப் போல கடந்து போகிறது. காலைப்பற்றி கொண்டு அந்தப் பெண் மன்றாடும் போது அவரது முகத்தில் தோன்றும் குழப்பமும் ஏன் இப்படி நடந்து கொள்கிறாள் என்ற புரியாமையும் அவளை உதறி தள்ளும் தடுமாற்றத்தில் வெளிப்படுகிறது. காமம் வடிந்த பிறகு அது எப்படி குற்றவுணர்ச்சியாகிறது என்பதற்கு அந்த நிகழ்வு ஒரு எடுத்துக்காட்டு.

ரோஷோமானின் மையம் திருடனுக்கும் அப்பாவி பெண்ணுக்கும் இடையில் ஏற்படும் நிகழ்வு என்பதால் குரசேவா அதிக கவனம் எடுத்திருக்கிறார். காட்டில் சிங்கம் எப்படி வேட்டையாடும் என்ற ஆப்பரிக்க வனவிலங்குப் படம் ஒன்றை மிபுனேக்கு தனியாகத் திரையிட்டு காட்டியிருக்கிறார். அதில் சிங்கம் ஒடிவரும் வேகம் மற்றும் அதன் கண்களில் வெளிப்படும் மூர்க்கம் திருடனிடம் வெளிப்பட வேண்டும் என்று தெரிவித்திருக்கிறார். அதன் பாதிப்பை மிபுனேயின் செயல்களில் காணலாம்.

செவன் சாமுராயில் வரும் மிபுனேயின் கதாபாத்திரம் ரோஷமோனிலிருந்து பெரிதும் மாறுபட்டது. பசியால் வாடியபடியே அலைந்து திரியும் கிகுஜியா என்ற கதாபாத்திரம். சண்டையில் அவனை யாரும் வெல்ல முடியாது. ஆனால் சோம்பேறி. பசியால் அலைந்து திரிகின்றவன். யாராவது சீண்டினால் மட்டுமே சண்டையிடக்கூடியவன்.

கிராமத்தை கொள்ளையர்களிடமிருந்து காப்பாற்ற போராடும் விவசாயிகள் அவனை எப்படியாவது தங்களது கிராமத்தைக் காப்பாற்றும் அணியில் சேர்த்துக் கொள்ளப் போராடுவார்கள். அவன் தன்னை ஒரு சாகசக்காரனாக வெளிக்காட்டிக் கொள்வதை விடவும் கோமாளி போலவே வெளிக்காட்டி கொள்வான். ஜென் பௌத்தம் சாமுராயைப் பற்றி சொல்வது அத்தகையதே.

உண்மையான போர் வீரர்கள் சண்டையிடுவதில் ஆர்வம் காட்டுவதில்லை. தவிர்க்க முடியாத போது மட்டுமே சண்டையிடுவார்கள். ஒருவன் எவ்வளவு பெரிய கத்தி எடுக்கிறான் என்பது முக்கியமில்லை. கத்திக்கும் எதிரியின் இதயத்திற்கும் உள்ள இடைவெளியை அறிந்திருப்பது தான் முக்கியமானது என்கிறார்கள் சாமுராய்கள். விவசாயிகளுக்காகப் போராடுவதற்காக அந்த கிராமத்திற்கு வந்த பிறகு தன்னோடு வந்தவர்களில் ஒருவன் கிராமத்துப் பெண்ணைக் காதலிப்பதை அறியும் போதும் காட்டும் அலட்சியமும், கொள்ளையர்கள் ஊரைச் சுற்றி வளைக்கும் போது தனி ஆளாக நின்று சண்டையிடும் போதும் வெளிப்படுத்தும் ஆவேசமும் மிபுனேயை நிஜமான சாமுராய் என்றே நினைக்க தோன்றுகிறது. சண்டைக்காட்சிகளில் இவர் அளவு நேர்த்தியும்வேகமும் கோபமும் கொண்ட நடிகரை நான் கண்டதில்லை. அவர் படங்களில் இடம்பெறும் சண்டைகள் வாள் மற்றும் நேரடி தாக்குதல் கொண்டவை. அவற்றில் கூர்ந்த பார்வையும் உடனடி செயல்பாடுமே முதன்மையானது. சண்டையின் போது அவரது இயல்பான விளையாட்டுதனம் கூடவே இருப்பதை பல படங்களில் காண முடிந்திருக்கிறது.பதினாறாம் நூற்றாண்டில் வாழ்ந்த சாமுராய்களைசமகாலத்தைய மனிதர்களைப் போல திரையில் நடமாட செய்தார் குரசேவா . அதை நிஜமாக்கியதில் மிகுந்த உறுதுணையாக இருந்தவர் மிபுனே. மிபுனே திரைப்படங்களில் மட்டுமல்ல. நிஜவாழ்விலும் சாசகக்காரரே. இரண்டாவது உலக யுத்ததின் போது விமானப்படையில் பணியாற்றியவர். சண்டை முடிந்து ஊர் திரும்பியதும் நண்பர் ஒருவரின் உந்துதலால் டோகா தயாரிப்பு நிறுவனத்தில் நடிப்புத் தேர்வு ஒன்றிற்கு விண்ணப்பம் செய்தார். என்ன நடக்கிறது என்று பார்ப்பதற்காகவே அதற்கு முயற்சி செய்தார். ஆனால் 4000 விண்ணப்பங்களில் இருந்து மிபுனேயும் 40 பேர்களும் நேர்முகத் தேர்விற்கு அழைக்கபட்டார்கள். அங்கே நடுவர்களில் ஒருவர் சிரித்துக் காட்டும் படியாகச் சொன்னதும் சிரிக்கும் அளவிற்கு அங்கே எதுவும் நடக்கவில்லையே என்று மிபுனே இறுக்கமான முகத்தை வைத்துக் கொண்டு சொல்லியிருக்கிறார். சரி கோபப்பட்டு காட்டுங்கள் என்றதும் கோபபடுவதற்கு என்ன இருக்கிறது என்று அதையும் மறுத்திருக்கிறார். நடுவர்கள் ஆத்திரமாகி அவரை வெளியே அனுப்பி வைத்தார்கள்.. ஆனால் அந்தக் குழுவில் இருந்த ஒரு பெண் டோகா நிறுவனத்தில் பணியாற்றிக் கொண்டிருந்த அகிரா குரசேவாவிடம் சென்று தான் இன்று ஒரு நடிகரைப் பார்த்தேன். முரண்டு பிடிக்கும் கோபக்கார இளைஞன் என்று சொன்னதும் மதிய அமர்வில் அகிரா குரசேவா நேரில் வந்து மிபுனேயை நடிக்கச்சொல்லி பார்த்தார். அவரிடமும் மிபுனே அதிகாரத் தோரணையில் தான் நடந்து கொண்டார். ஆனால் அவரது தோற்றமும் கோபமும் குரசோவாவிற்கு பிடித்திருந்தது. அவரை நடிக்கத் தேர்வு செய்தார். அப்படி அறிமுகமானது தான் அவர்களது நட்பு. 1948 வருடம் ட்ரங்கன் ஏஞ்சல் என்ற படத்தில் முக்கிய கதாபாத்திரத்தில் அறிமுகமானார் மிபுனே. அதன் இரண்டு வருடங்களில் வெளியானது ரோஷோமான். அவர்கள் இருவருக்குள்ளும் நெருக்கமான புரிதல் இருந்தது. அவருக்காகவே கதாபாத்திரங்களை உருவாக்கினார் குரசேவா. மிபுனேயும் குரசேவானின் மனதில் இருந்த கற்பனை சித்திரங்களுக்கு நூறு சதவீதம் உயிர் கொடுக்கும் அளவு தன்னை வளர்த்துக்கொண்டார்.ரோஷமான், செவன் சாமுராய் இரண்டிலிருந்தும் விலகி முற்றிலும் மாறுப்பட்ட ரெட் பியர்டு என்ற மருத்துவரின் கதபாத்திரத்தில் மிபுனே நடித்திருக்கிறார். குரசோவாவின் படங்களில் எனக்கு மிகவும் பிடித்தபடமிது. ஏழை எளிய மக்களுக்காக மருத்துவம் செய்து கொண்டு அவர்களின் சொந்த வாழ்வின் சுகதுக்கங்களைப் பகிர்ந்து வாழும் ரெட் பியர்டு கதாபாத்திரம் திரை வரலாற்றில் மறக்க முடியாத கதாபாத்திரம். ஒரு வகையில் அவர் ஞானி. இன்னொரு வகையில் போராளி. பதின்வயது சிறுமி ஒருத்தியை பிடித்து வந்து பாலியல் தொழிலில் ஈடுபட வற்புறுத்தும் போது அந்தச் சிறுமியை காப்பாற்றுகிறார். தடுக்க வருகின்றவர்களை நிமிச நேரத்தில் அடித்து வீழ்த்திவிட்டு அடிபட்டுக் கிடப்பவர்களை தனது மருத்துவமனைக்கே எடுத்து சென்று முதல் உதவியும் செய்கிறார் ரெட் பியர்டு. நவீன மருத்துவம் ஏழை எளிய மக்களுக்கு ஏன் எட்டாக்கனவாக உள்ளது. மருத்துவர்கள் எப்படி நடந்து கொள்ள வேண்டும். மருத்துவப் பணி எவ்வளவு முக்கியமானது என்பதற்கு இந்தப் படம் ஒரு எடுத்துக்காட்டு. மருத்துவக் கல்லூரிகளில் பாடமாக வைக்கபட வேண்டிய முக்கிய திரைப்படம், இதில் ஆவேசமற்ற, பௌத்த துறவியின் நிதானம் கலந்த உடல்மொழியை முகபாவத்தை, மருத்துவரின் கருணை நிறைந்த கண்களை மிபுனேயிடம் காணலாம். வீரசாகசம் மற்றும் காவியத்தன்மை கொண்ட கதாபாத்திரங்களில் நடித்து கொண்டிருந்த மிபுனேயை சமகால நவீன மனிதனின் அகசிக்கலைப் பிரதிபலிக்கும் ஹை அண்ட் லோவில் முக்கிய கதாபாத்திரமாக நடிக்க வைத்தார் குரசேவா.வணிக நிறுவனங்களுக்குள் உள்ள போட்டியில் வெல்ல வேண்டும் என்று முயற்சிக்கும் கிங்கோ கோன்டோ என்ற நிர்வாகி கதாபாத்திரம் அது. கிங்கோ புதிய பங்குகளை வாங்குவதற்காக பணம் திரட்டும் முயற்சியில் உள்ள போது அவரது பையன் கடத்தப்பட்டுவிடுகிறான். அவனைத் திரும்ப ஒப்படைக்க பணம் கேட்டு மிரட்டுகிறார்கள் கடத்தல்காரர்கள். போலீஸ்க்குப் போனால் பையனை உயிரோடு பார்க்க முடியாது என்ற நிலை. என்ன செய்வது எனத் தெரியாமல் தத்தளிக்கிறார். ஆனால் எதிர்பாராமல் ஒரு தகவல் கிடைக்கிறது. கடத்தப்பட்டது தனது பையன் அல்ல. தன்னுடைய டிரைவரின் பையன் என்று. அதை அறிந்த டிரைவர் தன் மகனை எப்படியாவது காப்பாற்றும்படியாக கெஞ்சுகிறான். டிரைவர் பையனுக்கு தான் ஏன் பணம்செலவு செய்து காப்பாற்ற வேண்டும் என்ற மனநிலை கிங்கோவிற்கு வந்துவிடுகிறது. உதவி செய்ய மறுக்கிறார்.ஆனால் கிங்கோவின் மனைவி யாருடைய குழந்தை என்பது முக்கியமில்லை. அது உயிருக்கு போராடிக் கொண்டிருக்கிறது. கடத்தபட்டதற்காக காரணம் உங்களுக்குள் ஏற்பட்ட தொழில்போட்டி. ஆகவே பணத்தைக் கொடுத்து குழந்தையை மீட்டுவாருங்கள் என்கிறாள். இந்த ஊசலாட்டத்தில் எப்படி வெல்கிறார்கள் என்பதை மிபுனே சிறப்பாக வெளிப்படுத்தியிருப்பார். மிபுனேவின் நடிப்பிற்கு கிரீடம் சூட்டியது போன்ற சிறப்பு தந்தது த்ரோன் ஆப் பிளட். ஷேக்ஸ்பியரின் மெக்பெத் நாடகத்தை குரசேவா உருமாற்றி த்ரோன் ஆப் பிளட்டாக படமாக்கினார். அதில் மெக்பெத்தின் கதாபாத்திரத்தில் மிபுனே நடித்திருக்கிறார். ஷேக்ஸ்பியர் நடிகர்கள் மெக்பெத்தை நூற்றாண்டுகாலமாக நடித்து அதன் பல்வேறு பரிமாணங்களை வெளிக்காட்டியிருக்கிறார்கள். ஆனால் அந்த நடிகர்களிடம் காணமுடியாத அகவெளிப்பாடும், குழப்பமும் மூர்க்கமும் மிபுனேயிடம்சாத்தியமாகியிருந்தது. மெக்பெத் இப்படிதான் இருந்திருப்பான். இப்படி தான் அவன் மனது குழப்பமடைந்திருக்கும் என்பதற்கு இப்படம் சான்று. சிறப்பான காட்சிகள் என்று அடையாளம் காட்ட இந்த மாற்றங்கள் அற்புதமானவை.மன்னரைக் கொன்றுவிட்டு தானே புதிய அரசனான பிறகு நடைபெறும் விருந்தில் மனக்குழப்பத்துடன் அங்கே மன்னர் ஆவியாக வந்திருப்பது போல உணரும் இடத்தில் வெளிப்படும் கோபமும், திகைப்பும், பயமும் உளறுதலும் மிபுனே தேர்ந்த கலைஞர் என்பதற்கான சாட்சிகள். மனைவியை பீடித்துள்ள மனநோய் தன்னையும் பற்றிக் கொள்ளுமோ என்ற பயமும் தனிமையை வெறுக்கும் அவரது மனநிலையும் அற்புதமானவை.அது போலவே தன்னைக் கொல்வதற்காக வந்துள்ள படைவீரர்களுடன் சண்டையிடும் போது ஏற்படும் உக்கிரமும். நூற்றுக்கணக்கான அம்புகள் பட்டும் அடங்காத ரௌத்திரம் கொண்டு துள்ளும் வீரமுமாக அலறும் இறுதிகாட்சிகள் மறக்கமுடியாதவை. அதனால் தான் நூற்றாண்டின் சிறந்த படமாக இன்றும் கொண்டாடப் படுகிறது.இவ்வளவு சிறப்புகள் கொண்டிருந்த போதும் மிபுனேயை ஜப்பானிய திரையுலகம் இரண்டாம் இடத்திலே தான் வைத்திருந்தது. அவரது வசன உச்சரிப்பு தவறானது. அவரால் செவ்வியல் துவங்கினார். மிஷோகுஷி போன்ற குரசேவாவிற்கு நிகரான இயக்குனரின் படங்களில் நடித்தார்.

Advaniji has written the book like a swayamsevak—Mohan Bhagwat

The much-talked about memoir and political autobiography of former Deputy Prime Minister Shri L.K. Advani was released by the former President of India Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam at a grand function in New Delhi. The 1040-page book has been published by Rupa and Co. Shri Advani has categorised the book into broad five phases.

The prominent personalities who shared the dais included the former Vice President of India Shri Bhairon Singh Shekhawat, RSS Sarkaryavah Shri Mohan Bhagwat, senior BJP leader Shri Jaswant Singh and Editor of Tughlak Shri Cho Ramaswamy.

Former President Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam speaking at the function said that the book My Country My Life acquires great significance because Shri Advaniji’s life has been intertwined with several historic events of the country. “He combines an incisive analytical ability with a panoramic view of India. The book is mandatory reading for the young as it reveals not only the personality of the writer but also the tumultuous ambience of the times that he witnessed”, Dr Kalam added. He complimented Shri Advani as a dynamic leader “who has all the good qualities of a leader”. Dr Kalam, describing the good quality of a creative leader, said that one can be a good leader when he has a vision, when he gives success to the team, works with integrity and succeeds with integrity. He also recalled his association with Shri Advani as the Home Minister during the NDA government and as the Leader of Opposition afterwards, saying he is a person who remains patient and never loses his cool.

Former Vice President Shri B.S. Shekhawat said that it is very easy to discuss any subject verbally, but it is a tedious task to write it in a presentable form and Shri Advani has done it with courage by giving sufficient facts. Shri Shekhawat expressed his hope that the book would be very much helpful for the society and the coming generation.

RSS Sarkaryavah Shri Mohan Bhagwat, said that Shri Advaniji has written the book like a swayamsevak. He described the good qualities of a swayamsevak as a patriotic, who should be a role model in every field he works. “It is very difficult to maintain the life of a swayamsevak in public life, but one has to do it”, he emphasised. He narrated a beautiful story in his brief speech, in which he explained how one honest person can save and purify the whole corrupt system. He hoped that the book would definitely inspire the new generation to follow the path of honesty. He said: “Advaniji is a generation older than me, and there are many things that we can learn from his life. He taught us that one could be firm in his beliefs, and yet could do a whole lot of things for the society.”

A galaxy of high-profile audience from various walks of life including the senior RSS leaders Shri Suresh Soni and Shri Madan Das, VHP leader Shri Ashok Singhal, BJP president Shri Rajnath Singh with his full team, all the BJP Chief Ministers, NCP leaders and Union Ministers Shri Sharad Pawar and Shri Prafull Patel, BJD chief and Orissa Chief Minister Shri Navin Patnaik, Punjab Chief Minister Shri Prakash Singh Badal, industrialists Shri Anil Ambani, Shri Sunil Mittal and Shri C.K Birla, singers Shri Sonu Nigam and Shri Abhijit, film stars Shri Sanjay Dutt, Smt Hema Malini, Shri Shatrughan Sinha and many other eminent personalities were present at the function.

Although the former Prime Minister Shri Atal Behari Vajpayee could not make it to attend the function, his valuable foreword in the book is outstanding. Atalji in his foreword says: “During the course of his long and inarguably eventful political life, Advaniji has, at times, been misunderstood and as a result has become a victim of the dichotomy between image and reality. But those who have worked or interacted with him closely know him as a man who has never compromised on his core belief in nationalism, and yet has displayed flexibility in political responses whenever it was demanded by the situation.” He adds, “Advaniji has been my friend and comrade-in-arms ever since he started working for the Jana Sangh over fifty years ago.” In his compliment, Shri Vajpayee says: “As an erudite journalist with Organiser; as one who assisted Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya and later, me, in building the party in a most difficult period in its history.” Candidly admitting the difference of opinion between them Atalji says: “Yes, we have had our differences on issues and approaches during the course of our long association as it is not possible for two individuals to always have an identical response while working together for over a half century within an organisation. However, it is not the differences, but the unity of purpose and action, that marked our relationship.”

Senior BJP leader Shri Jaswant Singh said: “I believe Advaniji is one of the most misread and misrepresented leaders in today’s India’s politics. He is far removed from being a breaker of mosques or any such thing.” He described the book as a “path-breaker” and a “valuable addition” to India’s political and social history over the past several decades.

Significantly, Shri Advani speaking on the occasion stated that he would not add anything more to what he has already said in the book and said he would let the book speak for itself. He made it a point to mention that he missed Atalji on the august occasion. He recalled that he joined the RSS at the age of 14 years where he received his grounding. The RSS has imparted a meaning to his life, while his personnel family contributed to his happiness, he added. Expressing his happiness he said: “God has gifted me with both meaning and happiness in life in abundant measure. I feel I have said through the book what I could not have said otherwise.”

The editor of Tughlak, Shri Cho Ramaswamy, showering praise on Shri Advani’s honesty, transparency and probity in public life, said that Advaniji is very objective in his assessment and his strength lies in the fact that he takes all crisis as an opportunity, and he sees every opportunity as a responsibility, which he discharges diligently. He added: “This country has been his life and his life has been this country.” He suggested that another chapter be added to this great book, when he would become the Prime Minister.

Shri Advani has mentioned in his book about his days in Organiser, where he joined in 1960 as an assistant editor on the recommendation of Shri Deendayal Upadhyaya. He said: “I was on the journal’s staff, Malkaniji gave me full creative freedom to express myself on a wide variety of issues. Soon, I started writing three columns under different pen names! This was particularly due to my own enthusiasm and also because there were very few writers in those days. My salary was quite modest—Rs 350 per month (p. 110).”
